The Byrna SD is a powerful, non-lethal personal safety device designed to offer enhanced protection in everyday situations. Compact and CO₂-powered, it launches chemical irritant projectiles that can help deter potential threats from a safe distance – ideal for use at home or while on the go. With its intuitive design, consistent accuracy and dependable performance, the Byrna SD is a smart solution for those seeking peace of mind without the need for special permits or licensing.

The Byrna SD operates with 8-gram CO₂ cartridges providing 15 to 20 uses per cartridge. For increased capacity and improved performance, the optional 12-gram SD Boost Adapter extends the barrel and allows the use of larger cartridges delivering up to 30 uses per fill and a velocity increase of approximately 1.8 metres per second (MPS).

Features of the Byrna SD Launcher:

An extremely effective CO2 powered non-lethal security device that delivers a payload of a chemical irritant (OC, CS, PAVA) and solid projectiles.

• Uses 8-gram CO₂ cartridges
• Projectiles – 0.68 calibre (Byrna and Duke)
• Average projectile speed of up to 92 metres per second
• Effective and accurate at distances up to 18 metres
• Ergonomic honeycomb grip for better control in all conditions
• Enhanced sights for quicker target alignment
• Picatinny rail for mounting accessories
• Straight trigger with a 2.9kg trigger pull weight from the second shot and smoother press
• Ambidextrous safe/fire switch, ideal for both left- and right-handed users
• Patented Pull-Pierce Technology: On the first trigger pull, the CO₂ cartridge is punctured and a projectile is launched in one seamless motion

The Byrna SD’s lightweight, no-recoil design makes it simple to operate and enjoyable to train with – ideal for men and women of all ages and experience levels.

Important Note:
Once pierced, CO₂ cartridges will slowly lose pressure over time. To stay prepared, always store an unpierced cartridge in the launcher until needed.
