Ajax CombiProtect Jeweller – combined motion and glass-break protection for indoor spaces

The Ajax CombiProtect Jeweller brings two important intrusion-detection functions into one wireless device. Its PIR sensor monitors the room for human movement, while the built-in electret microphone listens for the acoustic pattern of breaking glass.

It is particularly useful in bedrooms, living areas, offices, shops and other indoor spaces where both movement and glazed doors or windows need protection without installing separate motion and glass-break detectors.

Choose CombiProtect when you need both room motion detection and acoustic glass-break protection from a single Ajax device. It is a useful choice for rooms with accessible windows or glass doors where an intruder could enter either by opening an access point or breaking the glass.

The detector is intended for indoor use. Glass covered with shockproof, sunscreen, decorative or similar film can prevent the acoustic glass-break function from detecting a break, so another suitable Ajax detector should be used where film-covered glazing requires protection.

How It Works

The PIR sensor detects moving objects with a temperature close to that of the human body. SmartDetect processing and temperature compensation help distinguish genuine movement from common sources of false alarms.

For glass protection, CombiProtect uses an electret microphone and the DualTone algorithm. A glass-break alarm requires the detector to recognise the characteristic sequence of a low-frequency impact followed by the higher-frequency sound of breaking glass. This helps filter noises such as barking dogs, thunder and passing vehicles.

• Do not position furniture, plants or other objects where they block the detector’s motion field of view or obstruct sound travelling from the protected glass.
• The microphone should be positioned with a clear acoustic path to the protected window and within the specified glass-break detection distance.
• Ajax devices must use compatible regional radio frequencies, so use the detector with Ajax equipment intended for the same sales region.
