Ajax DualCurtain Outdoor Jeweller – two-sided perimeter protection up to 30 m

The Ajax DualCurtain Outdoor Jeweller combines two opposing narrow-angle motion detectors in one outdoor device. Mounted along a façade, fence, passage or perimeter line, it can protect up to 15 m in each direction for a total monitored lane of up to 30 m.

Each side can be adjusted independently, allowing the protected area to be matched closely to the property layout. Four PIR sensors, anti-masking protection and intelligent false-alarm filtering make DualCurtain Outdoor particularly useful where precise perimeter detection is needed without unnecessarily monitoring the entire garden, driveway or surrounding area.

Choose DualCurtain Outdoor when one mounting position needs to protect a narrow area in two opposite directions. Typical applications include long building façades, boundary passages, fences, rows of windows, entrance routes, gates and arches.

If protection is required in only one direction, a single-sided Ajax outdoor curtain detector may provide a simpler solution. DualCurtain Outdoor is most useful where its two independently adjustable detection sides can replace separate detectors facing in opposite directions.

How It Works

DualCurtain Outdoor contains two independent optical systems facing opposite directions. Each side uses two PIR sensors, and motion must be detected by both sensors on that side before an alarm is generated. This helps the detector distinguish human movement from animals and common sources of outdoor interference.

The detection distance of each side can be adjusted independently from approximately 4 m up to 15 m. The beam direction can also be shifted horizontally by 3° on each side to help avoid obstacles such as drainpipes, columns or lights.

Near Area Detection can be enabled separately for either side to reduce the blind spot immediately beside the detector. This is particularly useful when protecting windows, doors and other access points close to the mounting position.

Before You Buy

• DualCurtain Outdoor requires a compatible Ajax hub and is not compatible with the original Ajax Hub.
• Compatible control panels include Hub Plus, Hub 2, Hub 2 Plus and Superior Hub Hybrid. Ajax radio signal range extenders are also supported.
• For perimeter, door, gate or passage protection, install the detector approximately 0.8–1.3 m above ground level. Correct installation height is important for pet immunity.
• When protecting windows or shopfront glazing, installation may be approximately 0.5–0.6 m above the window sill.
• Near Area Detection improves close-range coverage but reduces the effectiveness of pet immunity close to the detector.
• Each side should be aimed so that expected movement crosses the narrow detection zone, and the Ajax Detection Zone Test should be completed after installation.
• DualCurtain Outdoor is battery powered only and does not support an external power supply.
