Ajax MotionProtect Plus Jeweller – dual-technology indoor motion detection for demanding environments

The Ajax MotionProtect Plus Jeweller combines a PIR sensor with an additional 24 GHz K-band microwave sensor to provide dependable indoor motion detection at distances of up to 12 m. It is particularly useful in rooms where changing temperatures, moving warm air or other thermal interference can make a conventional PIR more difficult to position reliably.

Pet immunity, SmartDetect processing, temperature compensation and up to five years of battery operation make it suitable for homes, offices, garages, workshops and other indoor areas connected to an Ajax alarm system.

Is This Right for You?

Choose MotionProtect Plus when the detector will be installed in an indoor area with possible thermal interference from air conditioners, fireplaces, heaters, sun-warmed curtains or moving warm air. Its additional microwave verification makes it better suited to these environments than a conventional PIR-only detector.

For standard indoor rooms with stable environmental conditions, the Ajax MotionProtect Jeweller provides PIR motion detection without the additional microwave sensor.

How It Works

The PIR sensor first detects movement associated with a human heat pattern. After a potential alarm is detected, the built-in K-band microwave sensor performs an additional radio-frequency check of the area. This second detection method helps distinguish genuine movement from thermal interference before an alarm is sent to the Ajax system.

The microwave sensor is therefore used as an additional verification layer rather than continuously scanning the room.

Compatibility

MotionProtect Plus Jeweller works with compatible Ajax hubs and Ajax ReX radio signal range extenders. It communicates using the encrypted Jeweller wireless protocol and is configured and monitored through the Ajax system.

Compatible Ajax hub families include Hub, Hub Plus, Hub 2, Hub 2 Plus and Hub Hybrid, while ReX and ReX 2 can be used where additional Jeweller radio coverage is required.
